Doug is a beloved coach and teacher at Westfield High School. After being told he wasn’t college material, he set his mind to prove that wrong. Doug talks about the challenges he faced to get him where he is today including learning disabilities and the passing of a close family member. He talks about what drives him and what has helped him be successful as a teacher and a coach, and of course we can’t let him off the hook without asking why he retired and what it’s like to be voted Teacher of the Year in 2021.
